Air quality alert: The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert effective from 10 a.m. Thursday August 5, until 9 p.m. Friday, August 6, for portions of west-central, northwestern, and north-central Minnesota, including the tribal nations of Leech Lake, Mille Lacs and Red Lake. The DNR does not issue burning permits in counties under air quality alerts.

  • Individuals with Burning Permits for Agricultural, Industrial or Management are required to follow all instructions including the valid start and end times listed under the Special Conditions & Requirements section on the permit.
  • No Burning until after 5pm and the fire must be out cold before 8 am.
