Description


Red-stemmed aster grows in sunny wet meadows, marshes, fens, shores, and openings in hardwood, tamarack, or alder swamps on moist mineral soil or peat. The tall stem is partly red, and somewhat bristly; leaves clasp the stem. Good in a mixture of wetland sedges and forbs.
